The Schemata Architects build uses stacked red bricks for the furniture, a nod to Seongsu's old factory history. The double-height basement seats the cafe, the ground floor holds the roastery behind glass so you can watch beans being processed. It is also the Korean headquarters. Seongsu was a warehouse-and-factory district before Blue Bottle, and the cafe is part of the wave that turned it into Seoul's design neighborhood.
