What to do
- Chimaek picnic
Order chicken to the riverside, pop a beer, watch the city. Most parks have delivery zones marked on Naver Map; convenience store mat-rental kiosks are how locals do it.
Year-round, peak May to Sep - Bike the river
Continuous riverside path runs the full Seoul stretch. Ttareungi public bikes (1-day pass) at every park. Yeouido → Banpo is the classic 8 km ride, ~1 hour.
Spring + autumn, avoid midday summer - Sunset gazing
Mangwon for the local-side west view, Banpo for the bridge silhouette, Ttukseom if you want the city skyline behind. 30-40 min before sunset is when the light is best.
Best Sep to Nov - Fireworks Festival
Seoul International Fireworks Festival lights up Banpo Bridge every October. Free, packed (~1M people). Arrive 4-5 hours early for a lawn spot or watch from a Mapo bridge.

- Cherry blossom weekend (early Apr)
Yeouido becomes a 2 million people crowd. Weekday or pre-7am.
- Fireworks Saturday (Oct)
Banpo + nearby bridges packed. Watch from Mapo bridges or a Seongsu rooftop.
