Why they run small
Korean sizing is cut for a 158-162 cm body, 84-88 cm bust. Anyone above that, size up. Instagram brands skew even smaller, around a 155-160 cm reference. That's why Free Size pieces fit a Western XS to S only. Men's tops run slim too: the table below is the nominal tag match, but most Western men do best one Korean step up, so a Western M usually fits Korean 105 and a Western L around 110-115.

Narrowest point between ribs and hip. KR 27 inch label = ~69 cm.
Fullest part, 18-20 cm below the waist. Korean denim is hip-driven.
Crotch seam to ankle. KR cut: 76-80 cm women, 78-82 cm men.
Seam to seam across the back. KR 95 jacket = 44-46 cm.
Barefoot. KR 55 = 155-160 cm. 170+ cm should size up.

What is Korean size 55, 66, 77?
55 = Western S (bust 84-87 cm, US 4-6, JP 7). 66 = M (bust 88-91 cm, US 6-8, JP 9). 77 = L (bust 92-95 cm, US 8-10, JP 11). For men, the number is the chest in cm: 95 = S, 100 = M, 105 = L.
How do I convert US size to Korean?
Women's tops: US S = KR 55, M = 66, L = 77. Men's tops: US S = KR 95, M = 100, L = 105 (Korean cuts run slim, so many men size up one). Jeans use the same inch waist on both, but Korean denim runs ~1 inch tighter than printed.
What does "Free Size" actually mean?
Free Size (프리 사이즈) is one universal cut, common on Korean online brands. It typically fits between KR 44 and 55 (Western XS to S, bust up to ~88 cm). Above a Western M, free-size pieces will not fit. Almost always final sale.
Can I return clothes I buy in Seoul?
Department-store and SPA returns are standard within 7-14 days with receipt and tags. Free Size and Dongdaemun wholesale pieces are usually final sale. Online (Musinsa, 29CM) follows the 7-day Korean e-commerce return law; buyer pays return shipping.
Will Korean dresses fit a Western M?
Western M typically fits KR 66 in dresses (bust 88-91 cm, waist 68-71 cm, hip 92-95 cm). If you are 165+ cm or hip over 95 cm, size up to 77.
