Men's bottoms (jeans, pants)

Korean menswear denim and pants use Western inch waist (28-38).

Korean men's denim and dress pants are labelled by waist in inches - identical convention to US menswear. A Korean 32 jean targets a 32-inch waist. This makes the conversion trivial: your US / UK / EU waist size in inches IS your Korean size. The exceptions are domestic-only suit trouser sizing that uses cm (76, 80, 84), but these labels are increasingly rare on visitor-relevant brands and Musinsa.

Korean menswear denim runs slimmer than Levi's or American Eagle at the same inch number. The thigh and leg opening sit tighter on Korean denim across the major brands (Vibrate, ROOK, COVERNAT). For visitors who wear skinny / slim cuts at home, Korean denim at the same inch label is straight-up the same fit or slightly slimmer. For wider-leg or relaxed-fit Western shoppers, Korean denim at the same inch is significantly tighter - size up by 1-2 inches for visitor comfort.

Dress and chino pants follow a similar inch-based convention with letter equivalents on Musinsa-international SKUs. The rise sits at the Korean median waist position, which is slightly higher than American mid-rise standards. Tall Western buyers may find a Korean 34 sits below the navel where the American 34 sits above; not a problem, just a different aesthetic.
