See it on the DealSeoul map Nearby spots and live subway trains
A 1960s movie theater inside Gyeongdong Market, reopened as a Starbucks with tiered cinema seating.
The space keeps the bones of the former Gyeongdong Theater (built 1960, closed 1994), including tiered seating and high ceilings.
Order numbers and customer nicknames are projected on the screen where films once played.
It sits inside Gyeongdong Market in Dongdaemun-gu, Korea's largest traditional herbal-medicine market, between Jegi-dong and Cheongnyangni stations.
Two floors, around 200 seats, with weekly performances by local artists on the old stage.
This is one of Starbucks Korea's Community Store branches, with a portion of each sale donated locally.
Pair it with a walk through the herbal-medicine alleys of the market itself.
